J How to get a Student Visa
REQUIREMENTS
Universidad Adventista del Plata is opened for every citizen of every nationality, taking into consideration the Argentinean Migratory Laws in force. Once admitted by the university, the foreign student is properly advised by personnel of the university in accordance to law 25,871, clause 20,699, section 2, subsection c), to fulfill the steps to obtain the temporary residency as student.
After having been told the steps to be completed, the student has the responsibility to complete the migratory steps to stay in the country. Students have 30 working days starting from the date of enrolment to complete these steps in the National Management of Migrations.
The educational institution has the obligation to communicate to the National Management of Migrations the enrolment of every foreign student.
A. Mercosur and Associated States
Present in the National Immigration Office after entering the country
There are two kinds of documents: issued in the coutry of origen and Argentina
Issued in the country of origen:
1. Identity: identity is accredited with the Passport, Identity card or Nationality Certificate (issued by the corresponding consular authority of the country of origin, in the Republic of Argentina) in force.
2. Original Birth Certificate: certified or with an “Apostille.”
3. Criminal Records: if you are older than sixteen (16) years old when you enter the country, you need a clean criminal record of your country or the countries you have lived in the last three (3) years, certified or with an “Apostille”, issued by National Police Department/ FBI (for USA)
4. Clean Criminal Record in the Republic of Argentina, issued by Argentinean Federal Police or the National Registry of Criminal Records, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
Argentina:
1. Entry: It is accredited with a seal printed by the migratory authority in the passport or Entry Card.
2. Clean Criminal Record in the Republic of Argentina ($30,00), issued by Argentinean Federal Police or the National Registry of Criminal Records, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
3. Sworn Affidavit of Permanent Residence:
a. Pay a $5 pesos stamp in the local Bank to be presented before the police.
b. In-campus student: ask for a certificate of in-campus student in the Students Affairs Office.
c. Off-campus student: go to the police station with two unrelated, Argentinean witnesses who are older of 18 years of age.
4. Pay the services repayment fee established by the rules in force. On the date $300 (three hundred) subject to the disposition of the National Management of Migrations.
The Migratory benefit to be granted will be a temporary residency for two (2) years, renewable at the end of the period.
B. NON-MERCOSUR without visa

There are three kinds of documents: issued in the coutry of origen, Argentina and UAP
Issued in the country of origen:
1. Passport valid and in use.
2. Original Birth Certificate certified or with an “Apostille.”
3. Criminal Records: if you are older than sixteen (16) years old when you enter the country, you need a clean criminal record of your country or the countries you have lived in the last five (5) years, certified or with an “Apostille”, issued by National Police Department/FBI (for USA).
Argentina:
1. Entry: It is accredited with a seal printed by the migratory authority in the passport or Entry Card.
2. Clean Criminal Record in the Republic of Argentina ($30,00), issued by Argentinean Federal Police or the National Registry of Criminal Records, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.

UAP:
1. Evidence of Enrolment as a regular student issued by the institution and signed by competent authority (In this University, it is issued during the process of enrolment).
2. Curriculum of the course of studies signed by a competent authority (In this University, it is issued during the process of enrolment).
The Migratory benefit to be granted will be a temporary residency for one year, renewable at the end of the period.
C. NON-MERCOSUR with visa
The following dispositions are to be followed only by international students of NON-MERCOSUR countries who require a visa to enter to Argentina. http://www.migraciones.gov.ar/accesos/institucional.php (Go to the Entry/Exit Requirements below; then go to the Visa Regulations. Present in the Argentinean Consulate of the country of origin before communicating the educational institution
1. Passport valid and in use.
2. Original Birth Certificate certified or with an “Apostille" http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostilla.
3. Criminal Records: if you are older than sixteen (16) years old when you enter the country, you need a clean criminal record of your country or the countries you have lived in the last five (5) years, issued by National Police Department / FBI (for USA).
4. Prove economical means to pay food and lodging in the country.
5. In your case, prove that you have the required knowledge of the language to start studying.
6. Know that you enter the country for the purpose of studying.
7. Pay the services repayment fee established by the rules in force. On the date $600 (two hundred) subject to the disposition of the National Management of Migrations.
Document´s certification
· All the documents issued in a foreign country (including the documents issued by Consulates) will have to be certified by the Argentinean Consulate of the country who issued it, or certified with an “Apostille” (for non-bordering counties which ratify the The Hague Convention) http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostilla
· All the documents written in a foreign language will have to be translated into Spanish in Argentina and certified by a Sworn Translators Association in Argentina.
